This project, entitled "Dynamic VR Interior Design Prototype", showcases my expertise in the development of interactive, high-fidelity virtual reality (VR) environments using Unreal Engine. This 7-minute video demonstrates the meticulous detail, proficiency, and craftsmanship that I poured into the project to create an immersive, interactive experience that invites users to design and modify their virtual space with ease and fluidity.
The prototype depicts a highly-customizable virtual room where users can engage with an intuitive interface to alter the room's aesthetic aspects in real-time, delivering a profound level of interactivity and immersion. Users can modify the room's materials, including the texture and color of the floor and walls, to better align with their creative vision.
The project's lighting mechanics provide a dynamic ambiance, allowing users to adjust the room's lighting conditions to suit their mood or intended ambiance. This feature, which also allows for the alteration of environmental light corresponding to the time of day, further enhances the realism and depth of the experience.
Central to the project's design is a comprehensive catalog from which users can select and spawn a variety of objects. From sofas and carpets to chairs and dining tables, this feature gives users the liberty to shape their room as per their preferences, demonstrating a real-time living room creation in the video.
This VR prototype serves as a testament to my proficiency in the Unreal Engine, with an emphasis on my capabilities to engineer realistic, immersive environments and my aptitude for implementing user-friendly interactive tools. Furthermore, the project exemplifies my understanding and practical implementation of interaction design principles, underscoring my dedication to creating VR experiences that are not only visually impressive but also rich in user experience.
Through this project, I sought to push the boundaries of immersive, user-centered design, blending technical acuity with aesthetic sensibility to produce an engaging and malleable VR experience. My goal was to merge the theoretical principles of experience design with practical technical skills to demonstrate the potential of VR as a powerful tool for personal expression and creativity.
